Wordless Wednesday

I'm glad it's Wordless Wednesday. . . Emmersyn is going through a growth spurt and I believe working on milestones -- She isn't sleeping as well. It's been a long & exhausting week. It's 1:30 and I have yet to have lunch. . . I had a donut at 7am and that's all I've been able to eat today.

Thankfully -- Wordless Wednesday takes no thought!

Growth spurts are extremely exhausting and sometimes frustrating when breastfeeding. I've gave in & topped her off with an oz and a half of formula twice now. And am having to go back to taking the herbal supplement as she just doesn't seem content after some feedings. . . Which is the frustrating part.

But seeing this smile every day makes it all worth it.

Mothers Day 2010 -- I love baby wearing! 

Happy Mothers Day!

This girl. . . Oh this sweet girl of mine. She is my world. I absolutely love & adore being her mommy -- There is nothing like it. The day I gave birth to her was, by far, the best day of my life. My life changed forever at 8:35am on March 4th. For the best. 

And to him -- The daddy of this beautiful girl -- Thank you. Thank you for giving me the best gift ever. . . Our precious baby girl. I will forever be thankful to you for making me a mommy. You've made my biggest dream come true. And how lucky am I to get to parent with you? You're a great daddy and it's obvious how very much this little one loves you.

To every mommy out there. . . Happy Mothers Day. I hope y'all had a wonderful day. 

My big girl. . . My oh my how she has changed & grown.

For starters - She is 2 months old already! Where has the time gone? I remember posting this post and spazzing the heck out. . . I remember that whole day like it was yesterday. I can't believe it was just over 2 months ago!

She smiles. . . Oh boy, does she smile. . .

And that smile. . . That one little smile -- It just lights up the room. Especially when she smiles at her daddy -- Those are the best. I am a sucker for their relationship. . . I was so afraid that because he missed my whole pregnancy, they wouldn't be that close. Boy was I wrong -- They already have a special bond & I know their relationship will just get stronger as she grows.

She loves to be outside. Loves the fresh air. If she's fussy and I tried everything, a quick walk to the mail box or going to sit out back on the patio always does the trick. 

She loves her Bumbo seat. . . She's very observant so she isn't a fan of tummy time. She'd much rather be sitting up in the Bumbo looking around. She also loves her bath time -- And loves taking a shower with mommy. This is how I bathe most days, I just strip her down and plop her in her bumbo. She greatly enjoys it.

She is 'talking' as well. I love it. . . 

Her 2 month stats:

10lbs 8oz

22 3/4 inches

(7lbs 1oz & 19 1/2 inches at birth)

Mommahs milk is doing it's job! Unfortunately, she has reflux. However -- She isn't in pain/uncomfortable from it and she is growing just fine, so no meds for her. . . We just have to deal with the spit up. That icky, icky spit up!

So here I am. . . I am back.

My computer is on it's last leg. . . I should be getting a new one real soon & when I do, I'll be back here full force. :]

We are still alive :)

So we're still alive. . . Just really busy. Things are calming down a bit -- For now.

The husband had the first 2ish weeks back where he was only working every 3 days, on duty days. So he was home a lot. . . And last Friday he officially started his leave period -- 2 weeks of no work what so ever. And we've been on the go every day, basically. . . It's exhausting. We have a Birthday party tomorrow and then Sunday we go out of town until Wednesday. . . Then Thursday is my 6 week PP appointment (even though I'll be 7 weeks) and Friday Will goes back to work & I have to take the car in to be serviced.

Emmersyn is doing fantastic. She's 6 weeks and 1 day old today. . . She smiles more and more every day & rolled over from tummy to back today. She eats a lot and sleeps even more. . . She is still sleeping most the day, about 3-4 hours at a time. She'll wake up to eat, burp & get changed. And then will hang out with us for about 30-45 minutes before she starts fussing to go to sleep. So she isn't spending a whole lot of time awake yet. . . I am hoping that'll improve soon. I want her to start having some floor time & some tummy time. And today I won a Bumbo seat off Ebay for $17.00. So when that gets here, I want her to start spending time in it. . . It seems she just sleeps so much, though. And I know NB's sleep a lot -- But I thought that by now, she'd be spending a little more time awake. Thoughts?

Emmersyn loves her daddy -- And he loves her. It didn't take her long before she started to recognize his voice and it absolutely melts my heart. We had a rough start when he got home -- But after a long talk (who woulda thunk? Communication!) we got things worked out and now I get a great amount of help around the house!!  Today he even changed his first diaper (pee only, of course). He does bath time with her almost every time (every other night) -- Though once a week Emma & mommy take a bath together. We both greatly enjoy it.

It took a while -- But she finally enjoys her bath time. And is slowly getting use to lotion and jammies after bath. 

My favorite jammies -- How I will miss thee.

Little miss piggy is out growing her NB clothes and is officially in size 1 diapers!! Last time I weighed us (weighed myself alone & then picked her up and weighed us together) she was around, approx, 9-9.5 lbs. She loves her mommahs milk! This week she wore 2 different 3 month outfits and fit in them just fine, with room to grow (but not too big). She can still squeeze into some NB stuff, but most the pants are too short. I can't believe my baby is getting so big!!! Where has the time gone?!

Last week we got her enrolled in DEERs -- She's officially a Navy Baby now! I hate the term navy brat. They gave us a list of doctors -- An 11 page list -- To choose from. Boy was that over whelming. But I posted on my every so trust worthy Facebook status asking my friends if they knew how to go about this (hah) or if there were any review websites on Peds in the area that anybody knew of, and a couple of my San Diego friends with little ones spoke up. Lucky for me 2 of the doctors that were suggested weren't only covered with TriCare (our insurance through the military) but on the top 6 that the lady suggested to me AND at the Peds office real close to the house that is ALSO right by my doctors office. So I called to see what doctors were taking new patients -- And every doctor in the office is. So I went ahead with the doctor there who my friend takes her son to who is in the top 10 Peds in San Diego County. Emmersyn has her 2 month well baby appointment set up for May 4th at 1:30pm. Her 1st set of shots. Hubby is going to see if he can get the afternoon off to go with me. . .

My little chunky monkey has also discovered the TV. Here she is watching daddy play video games. . . Her face is priceless. This week she also had her first trip to Sea World. . .

Well I wanted to post more -- But missy may is up, so here's a few more pics. I hope to be back here more often!

 

Cluster Feedings = Frustrating

Tonight is frustrating. & a night where I wish I had more help from Will. Emmersyn has been eating for the past hour or so... And Will has been asleep the whole time. Except when she fusses. I'm tired. I want to sleep. She normally only takes 20-30 minutes to eat... And in the middle of all that, she spits up. So she's full... Hopefully now she'll sleep so I can. My head hurts & I'm all around tired. And frustrated. Growth spurts/cluster feedings are *so* frustrating. I'm *this* close to crying w/ her.

So busy...

Oy, ever since my husband got home last Friday we've been on the go it seems... And when I have down time to spend online (while he's on his xbox), I have a bunch of things to catch up on. I had just gotten into a routine when he got home & was all caught up w/ my reader & was keeping up... Now? I'm *way* behind again! And I'm sure it'll be like this until my husband goes back to work full time April 23rd.

He's only been working on duty days - Every 3 days. His nonduty days we usually have somewhere to go/something to do! Saturday we both got new phones. He was due for an upgrade since right before he left, but we held off knowing hed be gone at least 6 months... I was surprised when they said I was up for one, too. So I got a new blackberry, which I loce! That's where our state refund went to... Hah. We also got our federal refund the other day & spent a good chunk of it. Today I bought Em a jumperoo that she can use in a few months & a big girl car seat, since we had the money. We have a long drive coming up in June, so we'll switch her to that seat then.

Emmersyn is going to be 4 weeks old tomorrow (well, in 2 hours). I cannot believe its been 4 weeks! She's starting to fill out & get a bit chubby. She's estimated (weighed her with me) to weigh around 8lbs. She's still a peanut, but considering she got down to 6lbs 9oz or so... She's doing great tho! Mommies milk seems to be doing its job. I still absolutely love breast feeding & she seems to as well. She takes a paci for comfort, but more often then not she prefers mommies boobies for comfort - She knows the difference & knows what she wants! I have fallen in love with my Moby wrap - As has little miss Em. She knocks out within 5 minutes of being in it & knocks out hard. More often then not she goes in it when we shop.

Other then being on the go & more exhausted then I was when I was alone w/ the baby, things are good. I gotta nurse Em & get us both to sleep - Up at 7am to get daddy from work! Maybe on Sat (his next duty day) I'll have time to post pictures!

Welcome Home!

He's home!! And he just LOVES the baby & she loves him. Its amazing to see them together. And its like she just knew he's her daddy. I love it. We're in bed & I'm on my [new] phone, I'll post all about homecoming & how things have been, as well as pictures, tomorrow. He has duty. :(

Real Quick

TOMORROW this deployment comes to an end.

TOMORROW my daughter gets to meet her dad for the first time.

TOMORROW I get to wrap my arms around my husband and kiss him.

TOMORROW my family will be complete. Finally.

And today my baby girl is 3 weeks old - Wow!
